The lecturers of the Mathematics Study Program are actively involved in research and community service activities in mathematical sciences, in accordance with the four specializations offered in the 2023 Curriculum of the Undergraduate Mathematics Study Program: Actuarial Science, Data Analytics, Optimization and Dynamics, as well as Pure and Educational Mathematics. These activities have resulted in various publications in reputable national and international journals. The Center for Mathematics and Society, established in 2022, serves as a platform to support the research, community service, and publication activities of the lecturers of the Mathematics Study Program.
Vision
The Center for Mathematics and Society has the following vision:
fostering and maintaining a supportive research environment for the academic community to contribute to the body of mathematical sciences at the national and especially international levels.
Mission
The Center for Mathematics and Society has the following missions:
- conducting research in the fields of actuarial science, data analytics, optimization and dynamics, as well as pure and educational mathematics;
- maintaining the quality and relevance of research outputs in these fields to ensure their international recognition;
- organizing impactful community service activities in mathematics.
Objectives
The Center for Mathematics and Society has the following objectives:
- promoting high-quality research in mathematics, particularly in actuarial science, data analytics, optimization and dynamics, as well as pure and educational mathematics;
- applying mathematical sciences to improve societal well-being;
- building strategic and sustainable collaborations;
- enhancing the relevance and acceptance of research outcomes;
- strengthening the role of mathematics as a strategic discipline in the digital era.
The members of the Center for Mathematics and Society are the permanent lecturers of the Mathematics Study Program. Each lecturer is involved as a researcher in two of the center’s four specialization areas. As evident from the national and international publications produced, researchers at the Center for Mathematics and Society have established collaborations with scholars from various institutions in Indonesia and abroad, including Institut Teknologi Bandung, Universitas Padjadjaran, Universitas Prasetiya Mulya, University of Twente, Sheffield University, Chuo University, and Aarhus University.
Each specialization encompasses various research topics, which are illustrated in the research roadmap below. Several of these topics align with three of UNPAR’s twelve flagship research areas, as outlined in its Research Master Plan:
- information and communication technology,
- supply chain and transportation, and
- human development.

In addition to research activities, members of the Center for Mathematics and Society are also actively engaged in community service activities, as shown in the community service roadmap below.
