The Mathematics Study Program at UNPAR is committed to bridging the academic world with the needs of industry and society. To that end, the Mathematics Study Program at UNPAR actively builds strategic partnership networks with leading institutions, ranging from professional associations, industries, universities both at home and abroad, to educational and social institutions. These partnership networks are designed to enrich students’ learning experiences, open wide career opportunities, and deliver tangible impacts to society. The following are the pillars of partnerships that form our strengths.
1. Professional Certification and Career Acceleration
The Mathematics Study Program at UNPAR understands that professional certification is a significant added value in the job market. Therefore, the program forges various collaborations to prepare students to become nationally and internationally recognized professionals.
- Collaboration with the Society of Actuaries of Indonesia (PAI) benefits students in the Actuarial concentration. Through an equivalency program, students who successfully pass certain courses with at least an A– grade may receive recognition for up to 5 out of 7 exam modules at the ASAI (Associate of the Society of Actuaries of Indonesia) level.
- Collaboration with PT Cybertrend Data Academy benefits students in the Data Analytics concentration through opportunities to obtain international data-related certifications issued by the PASAS Institute in Singapore. With support from specialized courses, students may collectively take certification exams such as CISDM (Certified International Specialist in Data Modelling), CISDV (Certified International Specialist in Data Visualisation), and CISDE (Certified International Specialist in Data Engineering). This enables them to graduate not only with a bachelor’s degree but also with internationally recognized proof of competence, making them ready to compete in the data industry.
2. Industry and Corporate Collaboration
We provide wide-open opportunities for students to connect directly with the industry while still in college.
- Collaboration with the Indonesian Life Insurance Association (AAJI) offers students scholarships during the semester in which they work on a thesis relevant to the life insurance industry. In addition, AAJI regularly supports academic activities through seminars and guest lectures featuring experts and practitioners who share the latest insights related to the life insurance industry.
- Collaboration with Karyajatnika Sadaya Rural Bank (BPR KS) focuses on providing opportunities for students to undertake internships and for recruiting graduates.
3. Research Collaboration
The Mathematics Study Program at UNPAR also actively fosters research collaborations, both nationally and internationally.
- Collaboration with Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) Al-Sultan Abdullah facilitates joint research between lecturers and students from UNPAR’s Mathematics Study Program and UMP, thereby enhancing research quality while expanding UNPAR’s academic network on the international stage.
- Lecturers of the Mathematics Study Program at UNPAR also have a track record of joint research publications with researchers from various institutions at home and abroad, such as the Bandung Institute of Technology, Universitas Padjadjaran, Vidyasagar University, University of Sheffield, Aarhus University, Groningen University, Curtin University, and others.
4. Community Service Collaboration
The Mathematics Study Program at UNPAR also actively builds collaborations with various educational institutions as partners for community service activities, such as Weetebula Catholic University, STKIP Weetebula, Wardaya High School Jakarta, Santa Maria 1 High School Cirebon, Santa Maria High School Surabaya, and others. These community service activities focus on enriching teachers’ and students’ knowledge in the areas of specialization offered by the Mathematics Study Program at UNPAR, particularly Actuarial Science, as well as on pedagogical development at the respective institutions, such as curriculum improvement and the implementation of innovative learning methods.
